Keep it simple(you're gorgeous anyway)

Hey, there!
I've always been obsessed with eyelashes and I rarely go out with "naked" lower lashes, but it's summer now and I personally get those dark circles of mascara under my eyes at the end of the day. I've tried different mascaras, I even tried not to apply to the end of the lashes.. no way... it bleeds.
So screw this!))))I've done a simple version of a typical everyday look and it turned out quite nice. So I hope you'll like it too and it will save you some time!
Enjoy!

Quote of the Week

Stop comparing where you’re at with where everyone else is. It doesn’t move you farther ahead, improve your situation, or help you find peace. It just feeds your shame, fuels your feelings of inadequacy, and ultimately, it keeps you stuck. The reality is that there is no one correct path in life. Everyone has their own unique journey. A path that’s right for someone else won’t necessarily be a path that’s right for you. And that’s okay. Your journey isn’t right or wrong, or good or bad. It’s just different. Your life isn’t meant to look like anyone else’s because you aren’t like anyone else. You’re a person all your own with a unique set of goals, obstacles, dreams, and needs. So stop comparing, and start living. You may not have ended up where you intended to go. But trust, for once, that you have ended up where you needed to be. Trust that you are in the right place at the right time. Trust that your life is enough. Trust that you are enough.

Look At Those Gams

Doesn't Alexa Chung look amazing in these red shorts? I'm not by nature a shorts person really. My legs just feel so....exposed!! But lately I've been wearing them more and more and I don't think I truly appreciated the diversity of shorts. Their potential is amazing, really. Take a look.

How great is this? Throw on a blazer over a plain t-shirt or collared shirt and you're stylish and cool.

Shorts don't have to be super tight or super short to be super cute. Unless you're supermodel Miranda Kerr, those jean shorts that have about as much material to them as a pair of panties? Not cute. And she doesn't even wear them like that out and about! In fact, almost everyone looks classier when something is left to the imagination.

And last but not least, don't be afraid to try something non-denim! Linen, cotton and lace are easy to dress up or down.

Easy Smoky Eyes

Hello,ladies!
Sorry for being such a shitty blogger.
I am a lazy seal... Plus all I can do now is to overuse a bronze eyeshadow.
Somehow created this teeerribly easy smoky tutorial. When you do smoky eyes you should be very careful with blending and it usually takes a lot of time but as far as I'm so lazy, I decided that I must be awesome with minimum effort)))))One more nice thing about this look that you won't get any "dark circles" under your eyes at the end of day and I find it absolutely great as it's quite hot outside now and the makeup doesn't last all day.
Aaaand... you actually need just ONE colour for it))You only need to build and blend, blend and build))

The Chapel Window

So many of you have asked if I'd share our last day in Bora Bora.

We started the day with Doctors Rodan and Fields and they shared some staggering comments with us. While I won't share it all here, one comment really stood out to me.

Dr. Rodan said, "We WILL be a global skincare giant and YOU will have the ability to influence and affect thousands for the greater good."

Whoa.

Have you ever thought about what that looks like for you.....to influence and affect thousands for the greater good? For me personally, it's to be a Kingdom builder for the Lord and to share the love of Christ.

On the way back from breakfast, I made a stop at the chapel there at the Four Seasons resort. When I walked in and looked straight ahead, I saw this view. It was the mountain again that I had blogged about earlier. It was another moment in time to sit, reflect and yes, pray. What a responsibility to be called to.

There are going to be some mountains you're going to have to go around: negative people, difficult situations, and friends who look at you like you're crazy because of your commitment to the Lord. You're going to have to keep the mountain into perspective and remember there's another side you haven't seen yet. But you won't get there....you won't "influence and affect thousands for the greater good" if you waste your time staying at the bottom of the mountain and giving every excuse as to why living the Christ-centered life is so hard and so tiresome.

I was reminded of Proverbs 16:20, "Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful."

Listen to the Lord's instruction and live in joy knowing you're being obedient!

Quote of the Week

"So here’s my advice: Study broadly and without fear. Learn a language if you can, because that will make your life more interesting. Read a little bit every day. But more importantly, surround yourself with people who you like and make cool stuff with them. In the end, what you do isn’t going to be nearly as interesting or important as who you do it with."

A Letter From My Heart To Yours

I was going through old files this evening, and found a letter that I had written Adrian last month. It occurred to me that it could have been a letter to any of you Buckaroo Barbie readers as well, so I am including it here.

My dear, darling heart,

I can’t tell you how many blogs I’ve written with that title or secretly that title, and they’re all to you.

I keep thinking about how proud I am of you and how much I admire you. You have such a strong, beautiful heart my darling girl, and I couldn’t be more proud of you. Life tried to knock you down, maybe it even did for a while, but you just keep brushing yourself up, getting to your feet and calmly saying with a smile, “You hit like a bitch.” Or at least that’s the way I imagine it. You have a tenacious will and I have loved watching you go after what you want in life. You're making yourself into such a strong woman and you are my hero. Just thought you should know.

Love you,
Always, forever and an extra day,

Lizzy
